Pain Management
Trigger Points
Trigger points are painful areas of muscle tissue. Often times, knots of muscle or muscle spasms from when muscles are over or underused.
Usually, these knots can be felt under the skin. These painful areas of muscle can often irritate surrounding tissue, muscles and nerves, causing radiating pain or pain felt in another area.
What are Trigger Point Injections?
Trigger point injections are muscular injections directly into a muscle spasm or joint. Medicine that we use comprises local anesthesia, anti-inflammatories, or steroids.
During your consultation, we can determine the best approach to get you out of pain. These injections are delivered with precise accuracy under ultrasound guidance and take minutes to perform.
Nerve Blocks
Nerve Blocks or Median Branch Blocks are injections precisely places at vertebral joints above the spinal cord. These injections are not to be confused with epidural injections, which are placed beneath the vertebrae near the spinal cord and are more invasive. Nerve blocks are performed under ultrasound guidance for specifically targeted delivery of medication.
